Welcome to Year 4, a year full of exciting learning, growing independence, and new opportunities! As children move further into Key Stage 2, they begin to take more ownership of their learning and develop greater confidence in their abilities.
In Year 4, we continue to build on the skills and knowledge gained in previous years, with a strong focus on deepening understanding in core subjects like English, maths, and science. Children will also explore a wide range of engaging topics across history, geography, art, design technology, computing, and more.
This year, children will also take part in the Multiplication Tables Check, a national assessment designed to ensure they have a solid grasp of times tables up to 12 × 12. We support this through regular practice and fun, interactive activities.
Year 4 is also a time for developing important life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and responsibility. Many children will have the chance to take on classroom roles, participate in exciting trips, and enjoy enrichment activities that help them grow socially and emotionally.
We believe that strong communication between home and school is key to your child’s success. This page will keep you updated with what we’re learning, key dates, and how you can support your child’s progress at home.
We’re looking forward to a fantastic year of learning, laughter, and achievement in Year 4!
