Year 3

Welcome to Year 3, the exciting beginning of Key Stage 2! This year marks a big step forward as children take on new challenges, grow in independence, and deepen their understanding of a broad and engaging curriculum.

In Year 3, your child will continue to build on the strong foundations from Key Stage 1, with a greater focus on developing reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. We explore a wide range of subjects, including English, maths, science, history, geography, art, computing, and more, all designed to spark curiosity and a love of learning.

Children will also begin to take more responsibility for their learning, developing important skills such as organisation, resilience, and teamwork. We encourage them to ask questions, share ideas, and take pride in their progress.

This year often includes exciting new experiences such as swimming lessons, school trips, and opportunities to take on roles of responsibility within the class or school community.
