Year 2 - St. Teresa

Still in uniform

Lovely to see the children working so hard, still in their St George's uniforms to help keep them focussed- their very own idea I've been told!

Stars of the week 27.03.2020

This weeks stars are:

  • Winifred for a beautiful acrostic poem for RE

and

  • Babatunde for always taking pride in his work and doing everything to the best of his ability.

Some fantastic work...

Some more fantastic work, this time from Yasmin, Angie, Babatunde, Matthew, Francis and Winifred - it is amazing to see the children still trying so hard and I couldn't be more proud. Well done parents too!

The start of at home learning

Dear Parents,

It has been great to be in contact with so many of you as we continue the children's learning together! I've already been impressed with the at home learning that is happening- this explanation piece for English was created by Anna. I look forward to seeing more of the children's work in the days to come.

WELCOME TO YEAR 2 - St Teresa's class!

Happy New Year! We have had a great start to the new term and have come back from the holidays ready to learn!

This term, we will be learning all about transport. We have begun to look at the history of transport, comparing those used in the past to those we use now. We are also really excited to create our own hot air balloons for our DT project!

Important information

Reading:

The children will be given an Oxford Reading Tree book once a week, which will be suitable for their reading stage. The children are also encouraged to choose a second book from our class bookshelf to read at home. Please try to hear your children read as often as possible, asking them questions to check their understanding, and signing their reading records whenever you do- we will be giving prizes to those children that read at home the most often!

Homework:

Homework is given out on a Wednesday and is due in on the following Monday. This will usually involve an English and a Maths task based on our learning from the week. There will also be spellings for which we will have a spelling test, many of these words come from the Year 2 Common Exception Word list.

PE:

Our PE days have now changed and will instead take place on Wednesdays and Fridays, please ensure your child has the correct PE kit, as without this, they will be unable to participate.
