Where would be your dream place to live?

The Northern half of Scandinavia which has really long winters, short days and long nights so lots of twinkly lights, candles and snuggly quilt time (the Danish call it ‘Hygge’-the joy of coziness!). It also has a nice, mild summer which i would spend having barbeques and swimming in the huge, crystal lake, surrounding my house, with my son, Bertrand.

What would you have been if you werent doing the job you do today?

An actor, a writer or a historian.

What is your favourite place in the school and why?

My regular spot at the staffroom table. Its where I catch up with my work ‘family’, laugh (lots), drink coffee (lots) and eat my lunch (quickly).

Where would be your dream place to live? I LOVE New York, especially the borough of Brooklyn, so if I had the chance to relocate and live anywhere other than London it would be in a big old brownstone building in Fort Greene Brooklyn NY.
What is your favourite children’s book? My favourite children’s book is called ‘Not Now Bernard by David McKee. I like this book because I think it reminds us parents to listen to our children and not get caught up with our own stuff so that we are too busy and ignore/dismiss them, especially when they are trying to tell us something important.
If you could be any animal what would it be and why? If I could be any animal I think I would be an elephant. They are such unique and majestic animals who are known to have great memories.
What would you have been if you weren’t doing the job you do today?
I think I’m quite lucky to have always wanted to work in the field I work in (Children & Families) and really enjoy what I do. However, if I wasn’t doing this job I think I would have become a school teacher.
What would be your last meal? Lobster. Steamed then grilled with some garlic butter. Yummy, yum yum !!
What is your favourite place in the school and why? My favourite place in the school is the playground. This is because it’s where you start the day, where you have fun and can meet with friends during the day and the last place you leave at the end of the day.
If you could only study one subject at school what would it be and why?
I think the one subject I would study at school would be English/Literacy. This is because I think it’s such a powerful subject. It encompasses reading, speech, language, poetry, grammar, communication, all things that really matter in life.
What super power would you have and why?
I would love to have the ability to make myself invisible. That way I could go and do things and help people out and they would never know it was me.
Marmite ‘ love it or hate it?! I LOVE Marmite. It’s just so yummy. I love it so much my daughter bought me a personalised jar last Christmas!!

If you could only study one subject at school what would it be and why? Mathematics makes you think using all of your mental ability and it improves your mental health.

Where would be your dream place to live? Jamaica. I got married there, it is part of my children’s heritage and is a beautiful country with settings and people that fills my memories daily still, with joy, laughter and happiness.
Sunshine or snowfall? Sunshine. The raging, fierce, scorching and penetrative hands of Oorun (Sun) in Nigeria beckons me daily!
What is your favourite children’s book? Anansi the Spider. Beautiful African Folklores, with focus on morals, values and wisdom.
If you could be any animal what would it be and why? Eagle: Good vision, fearless, tenacious, fly high, good vitality and nurturing. One of my favourite bible scripture is Isaiah 40:31: ”but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’ Amen.
If you could achieve anything in life what would it be? To always be the Best Dad and Role Model to my daughters.
What would you have been if you weren’t doing the job you do today? Banker. I studied banking after my 1st Degree and always wanted to be one because I love economics and finance. My passion for helping and supporting people who need help and encouragement is my life purpose, which took over and that is what I am now doing. I work in Mental Health.
What would be your last meal? Rice. ‘Why I Love You So Much Rice’ is a poem I am working on. I eat it every day!
What is your favourite place in the school and why? The Library. I love reading books by Chinua Achebe (e.g. Things Fall Apart) and Wole Soyinka’s plays and poems. Both inspired me, stimulated my critical thinking and interests in words, diction and English Literature. I read the dictionary a lot at the library also, learning new words and how to use them. At one point, my English Teacher joked that I will need a ‘Poetic Licence’, the way I was starting to use words!
If you could only study one subject at school what would it be and why? Religious Studies. I was so gripped academically with the bible as a child by how God loves us so much that when the 1st man and woman (Adam & Eve) sinned, how God had sought and redeemed and regenerated us, because of His love by allowing His only begotten Son (LORD JESUS CHRIST) to die for our sins and receive us back into His Kingdom, if we accept Him as our saviour. It is a history of love that still totally captivates me spiritually as a man today and every day.
What super power would you have and why? I will have a green outfit, with Letter C on my chest, with a Zap Machine spraying out Compassion, because I want people to be very selflessly compassionate to others, help those in need and reduce/remove poverty, pain, misery and suffering in the world that is growingly so unequal and inequitable!
What 3 things would you save from the school if it was falling down? My school mates, teachers/staff and myself
Marmite ‘ love it or hate it?! Never tried it!
